Whilst our volunteer editors will do their best to ensure our events listings are as up to date and accurate as possible; with the fast pace of how things are changing, it is inevitable that some will slip through the net. If you are planning on travelling for larger events, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly to avoid disappointment. We are putting in place new measures to give event organisers a friendly reminder to see if they wish to remove cancelled events, so we're sorry if it looks a bit bare in here :(

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for free, professional advice.

Family Pond Dipping Workshop (Morning), 23rd August 2022, 10:00 to 11:30 at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre (17.3 miles)
Join us for an exciting family workshop led by our knowledgeable learning team. Grab a net and have a go at pond dipping then find out all about the weird and wonderful creatures you've caught. There'll be a chance to complete a pond themed craft to take home too!
This workshop is suitable for children aged 4-11. Sorry, no younger siblings on this one please. All children must be accompanied by an adult who will be required to participate throughout the workshop. Numbers are limited so pre-booking online is essential. Family Activity: Wild Storytelling, 25th August 2022, 10:00 to 11:30 at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre (17.3 miles)
A special live storytelling event on our beautiful summer nature reserve with our senior learning officer. Come hear some wild tales while the bees buzz their secret stories around you and join in with some story making of your own. You are welcome to bring a picnic and stay for a play after the session, gates closing at 2pm.
This workshop is suitable for children aged 4-11. All children must be accompanied by an adult who will be required to participate throughout the workshop. Breast Walk Ever 2022, 4th September 2022, 9:00 to 19:30 at Wallingford Bridge (22.8 miles)
The Breast Walk Ever combines three new, beautiful routes along the banks of the River Thames, starting and finishing in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. Participants can choose between the 10KM, half or full marathon courses.

The Breast Walk Ever is suitable for everyone with just a little preparation, dogs are welcome too! There is no age limit, participants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Take part and help fund ground-breaking research into secondary spread, the main cause of breast cancer related deaths.

Each route is fully signposted and marshalled with support stations at regular intervals.

When you sign up to take part in the Breast Walk Ever, we will send you a fundraising pack full of helpful hints and ideas to get you started. We can also provide you with training tips or plans to make sure you are prepared for your walk.

At each checkpoint refreshments including hot and cold drinks and snacks are available and will be Covid secure. Each checkpoint will have toilets and first aid facilities. Checkpoints are marked on the maps. We advise everyone to carry their own lunch, water bottle and personal belongings in a small rucksack. Refills will be available at each checkpoint.

A wildlife club for 12-17 year olds that are passionate about nature and the environment. Wildlife and seasonal themed activities for teenagers to explore and engage in the great outdoors! Sessions last for 2 hours and are packed full of activities to teach you about the natural world that surrounds you. Booking essential £7.00. Young Rangers Wildlife Club, 10th September 2022, 13:30 to 15:30 at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre (17.3 miles)

Wildlife and seasonal themed activities for children to explore and engage in the great outdoors!
